Getting to the Netherlands

There are three airports in the area from which you can reach Arnhem by train in less than 1,5 hours.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
This is the main airport of the Netherlands. From the airport there’s a direct train connection to Arnhem (2x/hour) or indirectly via Utrecht (2x/hour). In both cases the journey takes 1 hour and 15 minutes and the 2nd class single fare is €15,60. More information at the Dutch Railways (NS) website. You can buy tickets at the train station inside the airport at vending machines or at the Tickets & Service desk (next to Starbucks).

Eindhoven Airport
This smaller regional airport is used by some budget airlines, namely Ryanair. From this airport you’ll have to take the bus to the train station in Eindhoven (20 minutes, €2,40). From there you can travel by train to Arnhem in 1 hour and 20 minutes (2x/hour), you’ll have to change trains in ’s Hertogenbosh. A single 2nd class ticket costs €14,40.

Düsseldorf International Airport (Germany)
Since Arnhem is not far away from the border with Germany, flying to Düsseldorf in Germany is also an option. If you don’t have an EU passport, this could mean you also need a visum for Germany. Please check this with your local embassy.
From the airport (Düsseldorf Flughaven station) you can take the local train to the main train station in Düsseldorf, where you can take the ICE high speed train to Arnhem. The total journey time is 1 hour and 20 minutes and a 2nd class ticktet costs about €35. More information & tickets are available on the German Railways (DB) website.

Accommodation

There are several hotels in Arnhem and several bed & breakfasts in the area. The Stayokay hostel in Arnhem is currently fully booked during the conference.
