Keynotes announcement

After months of hard work we can now present more details about the Chi Sparks programme on June 23. Expect more posts with programme updates in the next weeks!

What will be going on at Chi Sparks? There will be 3 parallel tracks, over 20 presentations, multiple workshops and panels, demonstrations of interactive art, posters sessions and 3 keynote presentations of renowned and emerging leaders and influencers. Expect a full day of deep-dive into the subject of Human Computer Interaction. More details will be put online as speakers finalize their presentations.

  • Bill Verplank – An interaction designer, human-factors engineer and lecturer at Stanford University. Bill Verplank has an amazing ability to draw at the same time as he talks. He explains the history and future of interaction design with paradigms that serve as patterns for the way people think about the subject.
  • Jasper van Kuijk – A postdoctoral research fellow who studied how companies deal with usability in the development of electronic consumer products. Through his research he identified mechanisms of barriers and enablers for usability in practice. He is also the author of the product usability weblog uselog.com.
  • Virpi Roto – A user experience researcher at Aalto University and in the University of Helsinki. Her mission is to clarify the notion of user experience and make user experience work more systematic. She has been the driving force behind the All About UX site and has done a long career in Nokia Research Center.
