Informal care of elderly people, by their relatives, is increasingly important in our ageing population. Jeurens, van Turnhout, & Bakker describe their design process of a system that encourages and facilitates social involvement of family members in the care of elderly people. It motivates social awareness by connecting physical presence of one relative with attention and involvement on a distance of others.
